BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF BAXTER BLACK Click Here to Check Out the TV and Radio Ads, Narrated by Baxter Black! Distinguished cowboy poet Dr. Baxter Black is the narrator of the new television PSA "Back on Track," an exciting element in HORSE FACTS, FBR's public education program designed to promote understanding and support for humane, responsible biomedical research involving lab animals. A former large animal veterinarian, Dr. Black is widely known across America as an entertainer, journalist, author, radio and television commentator and guest speaker. The New York Times once described him as "probably the nation's most successful living poet." The accolade, according to him is "an exaggeration." Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Baxter now lives in Benson, Arizona. He makes his living "shining a spotlight" on the flaws and foibles of everyday cowboy life. His definition of a cowboy is "someone who can replace a uterine prolapse in a range cow in a three section pasture with nothing but a horse and a rope." As the "voice" of our 30-second TV commercial, which tells the remarkable story of undefeated champion Thoroughbred racehorse Personal Ensign, Baxter is shining a dazzling light on the vital role that biomedical research plays in advancing equine medicine. We thank him for his generous support of HORSE FACTS. About FBR || About AAEP || Contact Us |
