BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF FRANKIE L. TRULL Frankie L. Trull is founder and president of the Foundation for Biomedical Research (FBR), the nation's oldest and largest organization dedicated to advancing human and veterinary health by promoting public understanding and respect for humane and responsible animal research. She is also president of FBR's sister organization, the National Association for Biomedical Research (NABR), which advocates for sound public policy that recognizes the essential role of lab animals in biomedical research and discovery. A frequent guest speaker and media resource, Ms. Trull has written several articles about the importance of biomedical research and the impact that animal extremism has had on the research community. She has been honored by the Endocrine Society, the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine, the Society for Neuroscience, the Association of Neuroscience Departments and Professors, and the American Association of Immunologists, for her many contributions to promoting humane, responsible animal research and public support for it. Since getting Peanuts, her first Pony, at the age of six, Frankie has owned at least one horse. She began showing horses at age eight, and has shown in multiple divisions on both hunters and saddlebreds. She currently breeds and races thoroughbreds and still shows saddlebreds. She has a small horse farm in Virginia, which includes a retirement field for the old faithfuls, including Gary, a 30 year-old- former race horse that she has cared for 26 years.
