Los Angeles - A provocative ad campaign targeting PeTA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and its celebrity supporters will this week release new ads in Daily Variety and Weekly Variety. Timed to appear in the days leading up to PeTA's 25th Anniversary celebration being held at Paramount Pictures on September 10, the ad campaign is a project of the Washington-based Foundation for Biomedical Research whose mission is to promote public understanding, respect and support for humane and responsible animal research. | |

PeTA's idea of a pet cemetery? The gruesome discovery of 31 homeless pets - allegedly killed in a "death van," stuffed into trash bags, and tossed into a dumpster by trusted employees of PeTA casts serious doubt on the legitimacy of the world's wealthiest animal rights organization. For 25 years, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has relentlessly assaulted the medical research community with deceptive claims: To poison the public's support for responsible animal research and to raise money for its cause. Now even skeptics have to admit any credibility PeTA ever claimed in condemning biomedical research is lost. To us, a dumpster is no place for dogs and puppies. |
