PLANNED GIVING: AN ENDURING GIFT

With a planned gift to FBR, you can make an ongoing commitment to the promotion of public understanding, respect and support for the humane and responsible use of animals in medical and scientific research.

When you meet with your tax and estate planning professional, please consider a gift to the Foundation for Biomedical Research – the nation’s oldest and largest organization dedicated to advancing human and animal health by promoting public understanding, respect and support for the humane and responsible use of animals in medical and scientific research.

There are a number of simple ways to make a planned gift - your tax and estate planner will be best able to advise you on which method of giving is most advantageous to you.

Bequests: Future gifts to FBR can be arranged by including a specific provision in your will or by adding a simple codicil to your existing will. You can designate a percentage of your estate or a dollar amount with the following sample language:

I give and bequeath to the Foundation for Biomedical Research, a non profit organization, for its general purposes _________ per cent of my estate OR the sum of $____ OR the rest, residue and remainder of my estate.

Life Insurance, IRAs and other Retirement Accounts: By naming the Foundation for Biomedical Research as the beneficiary of your life insurance plan, IRA, 401(k) or other retirement plan, you can avoid gift, estate and other taxes that otherwise can reduce the asset when left to individuals.

Life Income Gifts: You may want to consider this option if you are concerned with investment returns or have valuable assets that are not producing income. Charitable Remainder Trusts and Charitable Gift Annuities return income for life to you and a family member or partner. But using appreciated stock to fund a life income gift, you avoid capital gains tax and receive an immediate income tax deduction.
