Animal Research Saves Lives

BEST FRIENDS

Humans and Animals
Saved by Medical Breakthroughs

Do you have a pet that was saved by a medical breakthrough? We want to hear your story!

Have you had a life-saving event that you attribute to a medical breakthrough? We want to hear your story as well!

Best Friends is one of our 2008 campaigns where we want to tell the stories of health improvements in animals and humans made possible by basic animal research.

Send us your photos, stories and even videos showing how you or your pet’s life has been enhanced thanks to medical breakthroughs made possible by animal research, and possibly be featured in our 2008 compilation DVD!

For pets…please include answers to the following:

  • What is your pet’s name, breed/species, age? What do you love most about her/him?
  • What kind of disease/condition did your pet suffer with before medical treatment? What was your pet’s quality of life?
  • How was the ailment diagnosed? Did a veterinarian provide special care and attention? (include images/footage of your veterinarian with your pet if possible)
  • Was the decision to undergo treatment difficult? What factors contributed to your decision to treat your pet?
  • What did the treatment entail? Do you know if it was developed thanks to research with animals?
  • How has your pet’s life improved since treatment?
